Bismuth oxide is a chemical compound that has the appearance of yellowish white crystals. They exist in four crystalline modifications: α- Bi 2 O 3 , β- Bi 2 O 3 , γ- Bi 2 O 3 , δ- Bi 2 O 3 .
Bismuth oxide is used as an astringent and antiseptic, as well as a flux in the production of enamels, ceramics and special glasses .
