This compound is a dark red crystalline substance. Palladium sulfate does not dissolve in cold water, but reacts with hot water, forming crystalline hydrates of the composition:
- PdSO 4 •H 2 O (olive green color);
- PdSO 4 •2H 2 O (reddish brown).
Palladium sulfate is part of the sulfate electrolyte for the electrolytic deposition of palladium.
