Lithium sulfate - is a white hygroscopic crystalline substance, soluble in water. Salt has three crystalline modifications:
- α- Li 2 SO 4 - under normal conditions;
- β- Li 2 SO 4 - at temperatures above 130 ℃;
- γ- Li 2 SO 4 - at temperatures above 575 ° С
Can form crystalline hydrates.
It is used for the manufacture of detector heads in ultrasonic flaw detection and as a component of phosphors. It is also used as a treatment for manic-depressive psychosis. Including lithium sulfate serves to accelerate the hydration reaction, is used as a potential component of ionic conductive glass.
