The powder is white or off-white in appearance, colorless and odorless. Has the form of crystals. In water, the solubility at 180°C is 4.56%. Boiling point 1695°C. Sodium fluoride is obtained by neutralizing technical hydrofluoric acid with soda, as well as by sintering fluorspar with soda and silica, followed by leaching with water. It is an inorganic compound of sodium and fluorine. It is rare in the natural environment, more often it is mined using industrial synthesis.
The chemical formula is NaF.
