Charcoal carburetor is a solid, combustible product, a composition based on charcoal in granules obtained by pyrolysis at temperatures up to 500 ° C with a film of barium carbonate as a catalyst. Instead of pyrolysis charcoal, it is permissible to use coal, petroleum or coal coke, semi-coke). The production of charcoal carburizer from raw coal consists of crushing it, coating it with a suspension of a mixture of barium carbonate and tapioca dextrin (or starch), drying the raw carburizer in a rotary kiln, controlled air cooling, stabilization and packaging.

Where is it applied?
- Designed for carburizing (surface carburization of steel products) of steel parts, increasing hardness and wear resistance; to prevent oxidation of castings during their cooling;
- Used in forges, for activation, as well as in the manufacture of synthetic cast iron
- For accurate out-of-furnace alloying of metal with carbon in a vacuum or for adjusting the chemical composition of the metal within 0.02-0.2%. The greatest effect during alloying is obtained in the installation of circular degassing of steel;
- In a circulating degasser, instead of traditional materials, it allows to increase the degree of carbon absorption from 60-80% to 93-97% and provides an increased quality of cord steel, which is especially sensitive to the nature of non-metallic inclusions.
