Under atomic number 59 in the periodic table of D.I. Mendeleev is the chemical element praseodymium, which, like neodymium, samarium, etc., belongs to the group of lanthanides .
Praseodymium is a soft, silvery, malleable and ductile metal. It is somewhat more resistant to corrosion in air than other rare earth metals. Usually stored in light oils or sealed in glass .
Application area
Praseodymium is used as an alloying addition to steel, non-ferrous metal alloys, and magnetic alloys .
Praseodymium is used to produce magnetic cores and improve the efficiency of cathodes .
