Strontium peroxide is a white powdery substance, slightly soluble in water, but soluble in alcohol and ammonium chloride. Insoluble in acetone. At temperatures above 900°C - decomposes. It is an oxidizing agent .
Strontium peroxide is used for bleaching. It is also used in some pyrotechnic compositions as an oxidizing agent and a bright red pyrotechnic dye. The volume can be used as an antiseptic and tracer ammunition .
