Feed Magnesium Oxide

                Magnesium oxide or burnt magnesia has the appearance of a fine gray or brick-colored powder. It is insoluble in water and alcohol, but can absorb water well.
Obtained by roasting the minerals magnesite and dolomite.
It is used in various industries, such as construction, heavy industry ( eg automotive ).
Due to its properties, magnesium oxide has also found its use as a mineral supplement in animal husbandry, as the main source of magnesium.

The use of magnesium oxide as a feed additive provides :

- mineral balance in the process of animal digestion ;

- increase in hematological parameters, milk fat content and reproductive qualities of animals;

- digestibility of protein in sow feed under the influence of magnesium;

- in dairy cows during the milking period and has a positive effect on the release of nitrogen with milk, which in turn increases the technological properties of milk and its nutritional value;

- as a feed additive, for example, for chickens to increase egg production , etc. .

However, care must be taken when working with magnesium oxide. The compound may cause mild eye and skin irritation. Inhalation of the powder may cause irritation of the throat and nose .
